  • This effect is very common, as consumer trickle chargers typically overcharge.
  • A trickle charger is generally used to charge small capacity batteries ( 2 30 Ah ).
  • A trickle charger is typically a low-current ( 5 1, 500 mA ) battery charger.
  • Depending on the technology of the trickle charger, it can be left connected to the battery indefinitely.
  • A trickle charger provides a relatively small amount of current, only enough to counteract self-discharge of a battery that is idle for a long time.
  • Trickle chargers also sometimes connect in this way, eliminating the need to leave a vehicle's hood open, as well as eliminating the possibility of reversed polarity.
  • The battery allowed for a call of up to 60 minutes, after which it was necessary to charge the phone up to 10 hours in a trickle charger or one hour in a fast charger, which was a separate accessory.

  • I have a couple of car chargers of various vintages-but the thing I use most is one of those " booster packs " that has a small 12v battery and a VERY slow trickle charger-you leave it plugged in all year long-and when you need it, you hook it up to the car like a set of jumper cables ( only without needing another car ) and that's enough to get the car started . . . then you drive around the block for 10 minutes in a low gear and your battery is charged.
